With the BSA Electronics Power Tunnel™ you can permanently install a code compliant Romex extension in your wall to pass 240 volt power at 30amps from your Laundry room where your Dryer Outlet is located, to your Garage where your Electric Vehicle is located. The included PRO Outlet Center™ has a beautiful color graphic on the front that matches our Dryer Buddy and other custom units. It gives you a stylish place to plug in your EVSE and keep on eye on stats at the same time. The PRO Outlet Center™ is the coolest outlet for your garage EV Charging Station! It includes an informative 4 color kWh meter to display important information, Amps/Volts/Watts/Kilo Watt Hours. This keeps track of how much Energy you are using so you know how much $ in electricity you’ve used by simple multiplying the value by your utilities rate (0.14/kWh here in Vegas) The meter is wired to read system Voltage and meter the Current flowing through the EVSE outlet. This kWh value is stored between power outages and may be reset when you like. This allows you to see only the Energy your Electric Vehicle has consumed. 

Designed to extend your NEMA 10-30 (3-prong 240v 30amp, Dryer outlet found in homes built in before 1996) or NEMA 14-30 (4-prong 240v 30amp, Dryer outlet found in homes built in 1996+). This BSA Electronics Power Tunnel™ with PRO Outlet Center variant is made with all UL listed parts apart from the meter.

Connection is made easy with two 10 gauge name brand Lever Connectors from Ideal. Simply connect the two 10 gauge Hot wires to the Lever Connectors and the neutral and ground wires directly to the outlet and wiring is complete! The Lever Connectors are provided to make power connection between the incoming power/meter/outlet easier but you may remove them if you wish to install your Hot wires directly to the back of the outlet, just strip the meter power wires to 5/8" and insert them with your Hot leads into the appropriate holes and torque to the specified value on the outlet plate. There is a 1.04" hole in the bottom already provided to accept 3/4" trade size conduit or cable clamp. This can be blanked off with a Knockout Seal if rear or other entry is desired. The back has large mounting flanges on the top and bottom for permanent wall mounting as pictured.

There is plenty of room inside to add multiple additional outlets, an A/B selector switch, additional kWh Meter, etc. We also offer many more outlets than shown here including Twist-Lock. This is a kit that requires home electrical installations skills or installation by a qualified Handyman/Electrician. Kits includes the following (varies by the configuration you order);

PTPRO #P1 kit:

• 1pc. L14-30 (locking 240v 30amp) power inlet mounted in stainless steel cover plate (to be mounted near existing Dryer Outlet)
• 1pc. Pro Outlet Center with 10-30 outlet and a 4 color kilowatt hour meter (to be mounted near your Electric Vehicle)
• 1pc. 3.5’ Power cable with 10-30 male plug to L14-30 female connector
• 1pc. double gang retro fit box
• 1pc. 3-foot length of 4 conductor, 10 gauge 30amp cable

Selecting your Power Tunnel™ kit;
Under Power Input cord/Remote Outlet select the plug you want, (this plugs into your existing wall outlet or Dryer Buddy) along with the outlet type you want, (this will be your new outlet)
Under Romex cable select the length you want or none.
Under Outlet select the type to want or none.

The power input cord may be made shorter upon request. I offer many additional plugs and outlets, please place request in the order notes or email us.

We offer longer Romex lengths up to 12 feet, email us and we can quote you a price before you place an order or we can add it to your order. Due to the weight of 4 conductor 10 gauge 30amp cable, if you need a significantly  longer length it is recommended to purchase it from your local home improvement store.

Need some help identifying your wall outlet? We can help! Below is a description of the more common NEMA outlets and their numbers as well as some handy NEMA plug charts. You can also email us a pic of your plugs and outlets you need help identifying and we would be happy to help.

Here are the more common NEMA outlets:

• 5-15 standard 15A 120 volt household outlet, the most common you see everywhere.
• 5-20 standard 20A 120 volt household outlet, required by code in bathroom and behind your refrigerator.
• 6-15 standard 15A 240 volt household outlet, found in homes and motels for running in-wall Air Conditioners, it’s the smaller brother to the NEMA 6-20 outlet. The 5-20 is not as common as a 6-20 outlet with it’s “T” shaped slot as it will accept both 6-20 and 6-15 plugs.
• 6-20 standard 20A 240 volt household outlet, found in homes and motels for running in-wall Air Conditioners, also found occasionally in residential garages.
• 6-50 standard 50A 240 volt 3-prong outlet, found in shops and garages used for large welders.
• 10-30 standard 30A 240 volt 3-prong Dryer outlet found in homes build before 1996
• 14-30 standard 30A 240 volt 4-prong Dryer outlet found in homes build in 1996 and newer
• 14-50 standard 50A 240 volt 4-prong Range (electric stove top) outlet, also called RV-50 at the RV parks. By far the best universal connector to have for an EVSE. This is the one the Tesla guys install in their garages.
• TT-30 (Travel Trailer 30amp) 30A 120 volt 3-prong outlet, the older style found in RV parks, not used in residential homes.
• L6-30 (locking 240 volt 30amp) Twist-Lock 30A 240 volt outlet, my personal favorite locking connector, easy to find in stores, works great for adding adapters to portables EVSE’s equipped with a L6-30 plug.

220/240 volt outlets are commonly install with the ground pin towards the ceiling for safety. 110/120 volt outlets can be found mounted in all directions. Be sure to carefully look at your outlet and the chart, it's easy to mistake one outlet for another if your outlet has it's ground pin facing the floor instead of the ceiling or Vice Versa compared to the chart.

In the full NEMA number you will see a capital R or P. The R stands for Receptacle (outlet) and the P stands for Plug, we commonly truncate this to just the numbers and add the word receptacle (or outlet) at the end. For example 14-50R becomes 14-50 receptacle or 14-50 outlet.
